Your Schoolboy Crush Is No Secret

I have never done anything realistic before, so I'm really happy with this! Well, actually I have... Which was self portraits in Art class... And every time I drew a line, the art teacher would hover over me and say 'no, no', then do it herself. XD Admittedly, I gave up even trying human anatomy at that point, and never again will I look at myself in the mirror for such a long period of time! XD
Sorry for the weird title, I just thought it matched the story of the picture... Ahaha.
Anyways, this is Alexandre Motier from the French film Les Amitiés Particulières. The picture I used to draw from was of Didier Haudepin, who is such a cutie in the film. I'm warning you though, it has to be one of the saddest books/films ever... Watch this video and you'll see what I mean. I'll be getting the book to read soon, and I absolutely can't wait!

Teacup On Thomas Street

Today my parents took me to a really cool café in the Northern Quarters of Manchester. They sell all kinds of tea and cake, so my kind of place, really! Teacup is usually really busy, with people queuing out the door, but when I went it was okay.
I had the Tippy Earl Grey tea, which is basically Ceylon tea with bergamot and a sprinkling of blue cornflower. It was really gorgeous and had an amazing aroma. When it was served, it came with these little hour glass timers to brew it to perfection! It was so cute! As well as tea, I also had red velvet cake. I heard about the rainbow angel cake from my parents and wanted it, but it had marzipan on so I had to pass (stupid nut allergy). I'm not complaining though, that red velvet cake was delicious! Here are some pictures:

The table was quite crowded with tea!

Not a great photo, but the cake was so pretty

After tea, we visited this really cool art and craft store that had three floors! I also went looking for books in old book shops. I know it was a long shot, but I was trying to find the English version of Les Amitiés in Paramount Books. Needless to say, I didn't find it, so I'm going to try my best to get it on Ebay.

Right now I'm really interested in electro-swing music. It reminds me of the 1920s and 1930s, which also reminds me of my favourite books and films at the moment. My favourite artists are Waldeck and Kormac. As for favourite songs, I like; 'Why Did We Fire The Gun' and 'Memories' by Waldeck, 'Scratch Marchin'' and 'Jubilee' by Kormac, 'Hello Joe' by Vono Box, and 'Puttin' On The Ritz' by Fred Astaire.

February Sketch Dump

I have no idea how this will turn out on BlogSpot as this is a massive file... But that's all part of an experiment. XD Right now I've got so much homework and revision to do, and it's really stressing me out. Just as long as I also do some creative things to relax (even if it is just sketching) then I suppose it's okay. I can't wait to finish school, so I can focus on improving my digital art and writing, to maybe even make some money in that direction, too.
My moleskine is practically my new best friend. XD It's really surprising how many boys I've drawn this month! Usually I can't even draw one!

1) It would be illegal for me not to draw some nautical girl in my sketch book. She was originally going to be my character on Animal Crossing New Leaf, wearing an outfit I got with the QR codes.
2) Maurice Cole, copied from Black Butler volume 15.
3) Ciel Phantomhive, also copied from Black Butler volume 15. (no tracing paper, I promise)
4) Some random Tudor-looking boy. Watching Black Adder inspired me.
5) Maurice Cole in a OTT outfit I designed. He was originally going to wear booty shorts like Alois, but I changed my mind, ahaha.
6) 50s boy scout.
7) 50s cute nerd boy. I think it may be my OC Ronnie Brennan when he's older and loses his braces.
8) This boy from a dream I had. He was very cute with blonde curly hair and green eyes, but VERY stereotypically British that it was actually kind of funny. He was sitting in the forest with this older boy with long blonde hair, and for some reason lots of little squirrels came out and sat with them. I have a feeling they were skipping school so they could be together. It was a very beautiful dream, so I wish I could draw what I saw in my head, but so far I can only spit out this picture of Christopher.
9) Alexandre Motier from the French film Les Amitiés Particulières. Didier Haudepin made a really, really adorable Alexandre, so I couldn't help but draw him! I'll be getting the book soon, and I can't wait!

Les Amitiés Particulières Oneshot

Black Butler Chapter 90

This chapter made me cry. Everything about it was so angsty and depressing... I knew Black Butler was dark, but this chapter has to be one of the darkest of all, especially from Ciel's point of view.

Ciel becomes really ill from the curse, so Sebastian attempts to save him with Sieglinde's help. He doesn't die, thank goodness, but becomes blind in his eye. We also get another insight to his month in captivity (and this is where it really makes me cry, so I won't go into detail), and because of the trauma, he becomes afraid of adults and lets only Finny near him. He seems really human this chapter, if that makes any sense. Usually he is afraid to show any emotion, so it made him seem even more vulnerable this chapter.

As Sebastian asks for Sieglinde's help, she commands him to become her butler. To be honest, this kind of annoyed me. Something tells me she wants much, much more than for him to cook delicious food for her... Plus, I don't really want to see Sebastian being her butler next chapter, I'd much prefer more from Ciel's point of view.

This chapter brings a lot of questions to mind, too. Like, who was the person who told Ciel not to be afraid and held his hand? A lot of people are talking about the Two Ciels Theory, but I'm not too sure. It would be interesting, but too far-fetched and complex. In my honest opinion, I'm thinking it was just another child in captivity who Ciel became friends with, and when the poor child was killed, it made Ciel go insane. Also, who was Sebastian addressing in the forest? I thought he was talking about Ciel at first, but it made me kind of confused...

In a nutshell, this chapter was really emotional, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

The Vault of Heaven

Fanart for the manga 'The Heart of Thomas' by Moto Hagio. This series is really beautiful, and makes me get all emotional when I read it. XD The characters here are Juli (left) and Erich (right). I hope they look right!

The picture looks a lot different than it does in real life, as I played around with settings on Photoshop. I prefer the edited version, to be honest. Materials used are; watercolour paints, white acrylic paint for the details, smooth paper, oil pencils, and salt.

As usual, I named the title after one of my favourite songs. This time it is 'E-GE Umi ni Sasagu/The Vault of Heaven' by Malice Mizer. The song really suits my interpretation of the story, in my opinion.

Lolita Dream Dress Prints

If I ever find enough money in the future, I'd love to hunt down some of these Lolita dresses. Most of them are from 2010 - my first year of high school - when I spent most of my time drooling over the Lolita fashion websites. Jump break, because it's a really long post, ahaha.

Happy Birthday Cissy

Her birthday is on the 14th of February, which is ironic as she hates Valentine's day! :3 The clothes were inspired by Creepyyeha. I also wanted her to look kind of pastel goth-ish. Her name is Cissy at the moment, but I'm thinking of renaming her to Lana... What do you think? Name suggestions are welcome!

Sorry about how gross and crappy her hair and eyes look... I had to redo this twice, so I kind of lost the inspiration to put effort into it. XD The pose was inspired by pin ups again.

EDIT: Changed the colours of the skin and background more to what I originally had in mind. The background was originally lilac but I turned it to Black and White to give more of a contrast to her hair; and I made her skin paler to show she's getting pallid and gaunt with sickness... That's all a part of her story though. In the first place she had a lovely tan from the Californian beach she's been lying on. Like this when she was a child and this when she was older.

Cleo

Today we got our new puppy after about two weeks of searching! She is a golden cocker spaniel of four months old and we bought her from a breeders. When we first saw her, it was like love at first sight for everyone! At the breeder's home, she was very lively and energetic, going around to everybody to get a fuss. She is also very dainty and small for a puppy of four months old, but in very good health. We just had to have her!

Cocker spaniels are my favourite breed of dog - but I think that is obvious by now! There is a golden cocker spaniel in When the Summer Ends, the book I'm writing, and also in some of my fanfics.

For her name, it was actually really weird at the time. The night before we even went to see her, I wrote down Cleo as a possible name, and didn't tell anybody as I thought we were getting a boy instead of a girl. The next day when we knew it was a girl we were going to see, my younger sister said out of the blue: 'Cleo is a cute name.' My Nana was shocked, because she also thought of that name last night and wrote it down. Kind of like a psychic moment, ahaha. So naturally, it just had to be!

The breeder delivered her to our house in the morning as he was going somewhere in our town. She scampered around, sniffing everything, her little tail wagging, and she ran around racing with my four year old brother. Thankfully she came with the expensive food her breeder makes her eat, two food and water bowls, and a tiny red lead and collar set. We gave her an old cuddly toy that my sister used to own, that is bigger than Cleo herself. Ironically, it is a lamb we gave her, so I nicknamed it the 'Sacrificial lamb'. I can tell the poor lamb isn't going to last long, ahaha.

She was getting sleepy, as she had stayed awake the whole car journey. But my black cocker spaniel, Indy, was coming round to meet her as he usually does on a Saturday, so she had to stay awake for a bit. When Indy came, they were both really happy with each other. He barked a little, but Cleo is fully used to other dogs and didn't mind at all. I think they're going to be friends in their own animal way, ahah.

When things had calmed down a little bit, she wanted to go to sleep. I don't know why (maybe it's because I'm a very relaxed person? Or maybe I just smell good to her? XD) but she fell asleep in my arms for half an hour - and kind of curled herself around my neck like a scarf. She was really warm and soft and cuddly, so I almost wanted to go to sleep myself.

Cleo is just so beautiful and I'm so happy she's in my family now.

Les Amitiés Particulières

Lately I've had this powerful urge to watch black and white films, and seeing as I couldn't get a hold of Les Amitiés Particulières fast enough, I had to settle for 50s horror movies over the past few days.

Les Amitiés Particulières  is a French film made in 1964, set in the 1920s. It takes place in an all-boys Catholic boarding school, where the aristocratic Georges De Sarre falls in love with a younger boy, Alexandre - when he was the alter boy holding the lamb. At first Georges had fallen for a boy his age called Lucien, who was already in love with another boy and didn't return his feelings. He moves on to Alexandre, meeting him in secret and sending him romantic poems. The two soon form a really close bond, and whether it is love or friendship, it is hard to tell. Trying to keep their relationship secret was hard, especially as their love was strictly prohibited by the Catholic Church at the time. They end up separated before the summer holidays, and Georges is forced to send him back all his love letters and tell him there was never anything between them. Distraught, Alexandre commits suicide; not knowing that there was a letter Georges withheld from sending, telling him to meet him in the holidays.

Les Amitiés inspired the comic The Heart of Thomas, written by Moto Hagio, so I decided to give it a go as I loved the comic. It was hard to find at first, and virtually impossible on Amazon and Ebay, but I asked my Dad to find it for me the other day, and he actually did! I'm so happy I got a chance to watch this amazing film, because I was becoming obsessed with trying to watch the un-subtitled version on YouTube and only understanding the odd phrase (Eat, Eat! and Sit down, sit down! were the only phrases I picked up on, ahaha).

For me, I found this film very, very sad, but extraordinarily beautiful. The relationship between Georges and Alexandre is so pure and gentle, and the time and setting just makes it that much more exciting. In parts, I almost wanted to scream at the priests for being so nosy and interfering by separating them... Especially as it caused Alexandre to die!

I want to write a fanfiction for this film, too, as it was really inspiring. Maybe it could be about the summer they could have had if that letter was delivered.
