Recent Outfit Posts: Lolita, Vintage Laura Ashley and Costuming

Recently I joined Lookbook to encourage me to take more photos of my vintage and Lolita outfits that I put together. I've realised that I wear these styles a lot on the weekends, but I never take any photos to record what I've worn! I think it's a confidence issue, as I hate how I look in photos. To remedy that and hopefully gain more confidence, I put together some collages of the outfits I have taken photos of, as well as a new one from a photoshoot that I had recently.

A simple Sweet Lolita coordinate for a Valentine's day meetup last year. We had a photoshoot with photographer Annie Collinge (photo credit to her) and I ended up on a page in PYLOT magazine! It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun. Annie's website: collinge.com/

This look reminds me of a small Edwardian child that dreams of being a fairy, with a romantic vintage Laura Ashley dress from the 1980s (influenced by Edwardian and 1920s fashions) and a handmade rose headdress that my dear friend made me for my birthday.

A handmade 1900s costume that I made last summer, which was a lot of fun! My hair is in a Gibson Girl hairstyle and I've accessorised with gloves.

Mostly sewn by machine and with polyester fabric, so not historically accurate, but pretty! I'm really pleased with this costume and it went together relatively easily.

And a new one! You can see more pictures of the shoot over on my sewing blog. The other day I went to the graveyard to take pictures with my Dad of my handmade Lolita OP for my portfolio and Lookbook. It's a really fascinating place, with abandoned red-brick buildings and antique Victorian gravestones.

I absolutely love angel prints, so as soon as I saw this JSK on Innocent World's website, I had to buy it! I also have a print by Innocent World called the Three Archangels OP, which I love, so I kind of collect angel prints.
